Land separation
During the Devonian period the land was collected into two super continents, Gondwana and Euramerica. They were near each other in a single hemisphere and a large ocean covered the rest of the globe. The continents we actually surrounded by subduction zones. |
Insects and bugs
If you are interested in bugs and insects the Devonian period is a great place for you to go. The Devonian period is where the first wiggly insects and spiders were. Seeing these insects in person would make great research so you could see the similarities between bugs today and bugs when they first began.

how it ended
The Devonian period ended with an extinction that hurt the water habitats more than the land habitats. No major reef building happened again for thousands of years. Going to the Devonian period would give you the opportunity to see some of the first reefs.
